Beginning in the Jan 2021 lockdown in Portugal, I decided to do 100 paintings while unable to explore my new country. Similarly to the consistent and small format, being in confinement meant an adjustment in our concepts of space in our daily routines. The process of working with within a constrained format but no other limitations meant I had to push my creativity by coming up with something new each time (with very limited external inspiration). I began painting them the first week of January 2021 and managed to do five a week until the lock down partially lifted. I am currently at 64.
