Hanging With The Buoys – Pastel 14 ½ x 20 400 Grit 8 Ply UART Board
Like trophies hanging from a great hunter’s wall, any small fishing village along the Northeast will usually find a shack, a shanty, some type of structure draped with buoys retired from battles with the sea. Oh the stories they can tell, of warm summer days when water is like glass, or autumn storms when the harvester says “just one more” before heading into the safety of the harbor. The battles they fight to bring delicacies to the plates of tourists and travelers, seated with family, bib protectors worn, whose struggles with cracking claws is far removed from the struggles of the lobster fisherman. Oh, yes the stories these battletested markers can tell; I listen in awe, inspiration and in silent tribute.
