The merchants at the central market or "Mercado Central" in San Jose, Costa Rica, worship the image of Jesus's Heart. Amongst herbs, raw fish and meat, there leave flowers at the figure's feet every day, asking for miracles or simply grateful for the blessings received. There believe that miracles have been done already. The figure is found at the very centre of the market, where the best "Olla de carne" (soup with meat and vegetables) and the other traditional Costa Rican dishes are made.
