Contained Bloom is an original abstract watercolor painting created in 2025 using watercolor, acrylic, and ink on paper. This contemporary abstract work explores the tension between organic expansion and imposed structure.

Layered washes of violet, rose, sand, and indigo disperse and settle across the surface, forming atmospheric blooms and granular textures. Linear grid-like markings intersect the composition, introducing a subtle architectural framework. Within this structure, the central organic form swells and softens, appearing to press against its boundaries.

Created through an intuitive process that allows water, pigment, and gravity to guide movement, this fluid mixed media painting reflects my ongoing exploration of control and surrender — a recurring theme in my abstract works on paper.

The piece balances softness with tension, structure with instinct.
