The rolling Tuscan countryside has these typical Tuscan scenes almost around every turn. For this small painting, I wanted to try a new painting technique. First, I painted the panel with rust gesso, then scratched the surface slightly to create a texture. After it was dry, I painted this scene with acrylic on top of the textured base.
