‘Le Grand Colbert’ is a great little restaurant where the movie, ‘As Good as it Gets” was filmed. When a scene is quite busy, the artist must help the viewer by simplifying areas for the eye to rest - in this case, I greatly simplified the back wall details so the lights and reflections could sparkle. Creating a night scene in watercolor involves painting with many thin, transparent layers of color to achieve the evening glow. No metallic paints were used.
