One often enters the Jardin du Palais Royale through a small entry that suddenly opens up to a huge garden. Deciding to paint a large square painting of the scene enabled me to concentrate on the lovely building textures and design. The gold leafed gate-posts at the entrance to the Café help to welcome the viewer. Reflections on the window give you the sense there is a garden behind them.
