While scouting for a place to paint the Lake Wylie, my friend and I drove up and down several inlets until we finally found an abandoned lot that gave us access. I painted this plein-air in the fall at the lake just south of Charlotte. The yellow tree’s leaves were dancing in the sunlight and played well against the overcast, colorful foliage on the far bank.
