There is a wonderful 3-mile walk from the train station to Giverny, Monet’s home and garden. A short train ride from Paris takes you to Giverny; most visitors take a bus from the station to Giverny and miss this very scenic walk. I could well imagine Monet walking down the lane. My artist friend and I sat down on the street with our small set of paints; this was the result.
The gate with all of its very aged colors tells a story in itself. The foilage draping over the gate helped to create the composition to make the viewer's eye move to the gate and wonder what was beyond.
