This scene of a tower in Amalfi was sketched in pencil first, then I painted the sky, mountains and building in one wet-in-wet pass. After it dried a bit, I added a few darker highlights and some sepia ink. In watercolor, the artist must save his/her whites of the paper. Opaque white is not used except for ‘mini-fixes’.
