MessageJane Runyeon, Master of Fine Arts
Jane Runyeon is a painter, educator, and creative visionary whose life has continually combined imagination with community spirit. Her career is defined by a profound commitment to the creative process and the advancement of the arts. With a career spanning over four decades, Runyeon has cultivated a practice that seamlessly integrates life and fine art.
Academic Foundation and Early Mentorship
Runyeon’s formal training began at the University of Cincinnati, where she earned her Master of Fine Arts in 1981. Seeking to diversify her talents, she spent a formative year at the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD). During this residency, she focused on collage under the mentorship of the world-renowned glass artist Dale Chihuly—an experience that solidified her interdisciplinary approach to visual storytelling.
Professional Trajectory and Entrepreneurship
In 1983, Runyeon returned to her roots in Reading, Pennsylvania, joining the faculty at Albright College. As an instructor of Painting and Drawing, she dedicated herself to nurturing emerging talent while refining her own aesthetic voice.
Her transition from academia to entrepreneurship was realized in 2001 with the incorporation of All Together Art, Inc. This venture serves as the hub for her diverse professional activities, which today include:
- Fine Art & Stained Glass Design: Producing site-specific works for private and public collections.
- Curation & Management: Leading art-based initiatives
- Public Speaking: Lecturing on a broad spectrum of topics ranging from creative theory to the intersection of art & science.

Runyeon’s work is represented in prestigious venues and permanent collections. Her professional portfolio includes high-profile commissions and workshop leadership for:

Creative Philosophy
Central to Runyeon’s mission is the belief that all the arts are an essential pillar of the community. She is a tireless advocate for artist rights and the integration of creative programming into local infrastructure.
She calls her present studio "Faux Prague"—an "underground laboratory" where she synthesizes inspirations from the natural world into expressive visual narratives. Runyeon resides in the historic former offices of the legendary horticulturist Bertrand Farr, alongside her husband, Art, and their dog, Liza Minelli.
Statement
Jane’s artwork is gestural, and joyful with provocative titles. Astronomy, stacks of books, the rhythm of music and the seasonal forest have fueled Runyeon’s abstract artworks for decades. Major influences include the expressive splashy brush strokes of the Abstract Expressionists, the collages of Matisse and paintings of Joan Mitchell.
