This painting looks at the tiny minutiae of life, what is real but cannot be seen with normal sight. I use microscopes and magnifying devices in my exploration of micro-worlds. Using the circular cell motif I have made a direct reference to the lenses we view the world through not just in science but through out all aspects of our life. I find the painting sublime and beautiful yet terrifying in its vulnerability. It poses questions in art about what is Abstract and/or Real. Organic or Synthetic?
