Melek means angel in turkish. Inspired by ancient cave church wall paintings from the greek-orthodox period. The semidestruction of an religious wall painting in a cave in Cappadocia gave birth to that piece where many layers of oil and wax evoque the feeling of times where humankind lived in an intimate relationship with the holy essence of live. As in the original wall the painting contains carvings of greek words. The artist inserted extracts of the writings of Plato about the relationship of the spirit and the soul.
