The piece is made by layering colour shapes and expressive marks and collage elements in order to create an abstract space. It`s name refers to a fortress and is used in Maghred countries. Here it is a metaphor for a protected space, a refuge for the soul. The warm undertone was inspired by an aged terracotta tile floor in Marrocco.
