SCJ SERIES Caseta y jardín 56X56cm
Work on paper 2020
Research and creative processes using paper as support.
Series of works in which I combine geometric compositions on a square format and with a resolution or matte finish.
The cabin in the garden
I start this series in the summer of 2020. The previous months of confinement due to the Covid crisis have been hard and strange.
In the summer I have a garden in which to move. The physical and intellectual contact with those levels of color, form and texture that make up a garden influence the conceptual search for another iconographic space, more airy and balanced. Building a cabin in a garden is a metaphor. My main tool to give it form is drawing. Drawing is the link that can give form to what is in itself vaporous or intangible: ideas.
To draw is to build.
Since I can't build a shed in any garden right now, I draw it. By drawing it, it takes shape and becomes real. All that remains is to think about licenses, taxes and gold. Meanwhile, I allow myself to create new and different models, both of the plot and of the construction. So I have more options to choose from.
