Serie SAC/1 AutoCAD
The series is designated as AutoCAD SAC. The AutoCAD SAC series is a plastic exercise that seeks to integrate the influence that this computer-assisted drawing software has exerted on my aesthetic proposals and new artistic approaches. For an artist who employs a representational approach, the use of AutoCAD represents an opportunity to explore new and intriguing avenues.
EAFAC Francisco Alcántara School of Art, Ceramics Department, Madrid
In 2019, I began to familiarize myself with AutoCAD, having commenced my studies in First Ceramics at EAFAC. I continued to use AutoCAD to a considerable extent in 2020, when I undertook First Ceramic molds course at the same institution. The utilization of this computer-aided design software is applicable to both two-dimensional and three-dimensional environments. It is an essential software for the development of exploded views in a digital environment.
AutoCAD. Methodology
At the School of Ceramics of Madrid, EAFAC, the then-professor was not adequately trained to deliver this type of course, and it was challenging for me to follow a consistent structure. Following a change of teachers midway through the course, I began to appreciate the software. In the 2019/20 course, I enrolled in Ceramic molds course with the new Design teacher, architect Marcelo Romero. He provided a more professional and motivating introduction to the software mechanics. Learning how to create molds for ceramics provides an understanding of the concept of molding by revolution. The professor provided a more structured approach to using the software. Perhaps this approach allowed me to enter the software in a more proportionate and progressive manner, so that I could begin to understand and practice with this great software by having a coherent representation framework.
The Aesthetics of AutoCAD Software
I am intrigued by the aesthetic aspects of AutoCAD, including the representation planes, plane axes, color-based direction indicators, and the ability to rotate within the representation space.
The aesthetic appeal of the AutoCAD SAC series is what I am seeking in this particular instance. The use of this impressive software enhances my cognitive abilities. The new work on heavyweight etching paper demonstrates a notable shift in iconology. I typically utilize this type of paper, 100% cotton, as it offers a more consistent and textured surface. The acrylic gouache and matte acrylic inks I use on this type of surface enhance the aesthetic qualities I am seeking to achieve.
