This photograph was printed in 2020 for Magnum Square Prints, as part of a benefit sale--half the proceeds went to the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP).
The artist states: "This photograph was made at San Francisco's first Martin Luther King Jr. Day Parade, January 20th, 1986. It took 32 years of effort, including a petition with six million signatures, to create this national holiday honoring a Black leader".
