Artist Statement:
This artwork began as an exploration of texture and form, driven by curiosity about how different fibers interact within a specific braid structure. My experiment used silk and metallic fibers to see how they would influence the braid's texture. I then worked with different braid patterns for the silk and metallic fibers in the spiral zigzag section of the work. To further enhance the visual impact, I incorporated tiny braids to highlight the organic spiral zigzag braid portion.

Technique:
Kumihimo braiding on a square plate and a marudai, needle bead weaving, and sewing skills.
