Stiff Goldenrod provides many pollinators with nectar. Little Bluestem is a native grass that serves as the larval host plants for a diversity of nine skipper butterflies, including the Poweshiek Skipper and Dakota Skipperling which are listed as Endangered Federally and in Wisconsin. The grasses provide overwintering habitat for a variety of other insects and wildlife as well.
