In “Tamanawas” the composition includes water, land, animals, people, and trees to show that we all belong together. My parents talked a lot about Native spirituality and Mother Earth. My mother used the word Tamanawas for our particular practice of spirituality. I thought the Sol Duc Falls photo was perfect for a Tamanawas art piece. I placed animals to show that animals are an equal part of Mother Earth with us and every other living being.
