MessageIn “Sister Wall” there are ten un-named Native women from different tribes I used from historical photographs. The art piece shows the different types of clothing, hair styles, footwear, basketry, pottery, and personal ornamentation. I imported the “Sister Wall” Excel spreadsheet into Illustrator and created this “wall”. My vision was to give the tribal people I saw in historical photos another life in this time, in my contemporary art. I realized as I worked with each woman, they are our ancestors and I create artwork for them to be remembered.
