This scene is from a drive along the Blue Ridge Parkway in Great Smoky Mountain National Park. The drive is a nature lover’s (and Painters) delight with scenic overlooks every mile or so. The Smokies are truly a magical place and I painted a number of Plein Air pieces over several days. The Parkway also features numerous tunnels cutting through the mountains. None had enough room to safely do a Plein Air piece but I took a great many photos to bring back to the Studio. Here is one such view.
