Many years ago on a trip to historic Jerome, Az I visited the Gold King Mine, an old mine burrowed into the side of the mountain. The owner, Don Robertson was an interesting character who had turned the place into a outdoor museum. In talking with Don, I explained that I was a painter and asked if I could take a photo of him. He struck a pose, and I captured the shot. Although I had done graphite sketches, I had not painted Don from the photo before now. Don unfortunately passed a couple of years ago. A very interesting guy.
