The Promenade in Havre de Grace is a favorite place for a walk. It also is a perfect subject tor a painting. The juxtaposition of the water, the boardwalk at waters edge and the imposing structure of the old Bayou Hotel are alluring. I painted a small 6X12 version of this scene over the winter and wanted to do a version on a bigger scale. I happened to have a large panoramic frame on hand which dictated the size.
