This portrait is of my friend Danielle. We met several years ago, at our former gym, in an MMA class. I know I presented zero challenge and offered no technical acumen during those classes, but Danielle and I eventually became friends despite my lack of athleticism. I was particularly fond of the sparring portion of our classes, although I couldn’t possibly explain why.
Over the years since, we have become great friends. Her continued passion for competitive sports and the perseverance to take on new challenges and opponents inspired this painting.
