Many years ago I worked at Bryce Canyon NP as an NPS interpretive ranger. Since that time I have been in love with the place, yet haven't returned. Coming back to paint in August 2020, I was flooded with feelings of love, of home, of excitement. And also, as soon as I got there I enjoyed a huge, short-lived yet violent rainstorm, the first in months and months. I was fairly dancing for joy as I painted this piece.
