Clothing designer Stina Sayre has always inspired me with her passion and dedication to the creative life. At the time I painted her, Stina was working in her shop on Main Street in Vineyard Haven, with gleaming floors and light streaming in from front windows. As Stina draped the mannequin to create an elegant dress, her reflection in the mirror seemed to take on a life of its own and I was intrigued by the repetition of shapes and color.
