My visual practice grows out of my background as a Foundational Māori Curator & Māori Art Historian .
Message
This diptych comprises two works that reference two major battle sites involving Ngāpuhi and British and kupapa Māori forces in the Northern Wars, Ngā Pakanga Whenua o Mua in 1845 and early 1846. The composition is entirely abstract with textual references to both wāhi tapū 'sacred sites'
