The title Ethereal Motion came to me as I reviewed this finished painting. The painting represents the juxtaposition or contrast of the physical and the spiritual, the smoother upper area representing the spiritual. While painting it I created a spot that later I did not like, but I was unable to remove it. However, I could change it into something else. We can change our spirit. Even though it is the presence of God in our life He puts us in charge of how we use it. I believe there is always movement in our spirit influenced by how we live and think – ethereal or spiritual motion. That spiritual movement can make our lives much better or much worse, it is our choice.
