This is the view I see every time I take the Orange Line train from Ashland to The Loop in Chicago. This beautifully restored waterway once was a putrid ditch running through the infamous Chicago Stockyards. The cleanup effort began after the Stockyards closed, nearly 100 years ago. It's name, Bubbly Creek, described the gases erupting from the mire at the spillway's worst period. Unframed, gallery wrapped canvas with black edges.
