Tetraptych i.e. artwork composed of four parts, each of 160x120 cm / tetraptyk złożony z czterech części, każda o wymiarach 160x120cm
These were the first weeks of the pandemic in Poland. When painting 'My Ordinary Life' I was feeling excitement. I like large formats, but for the first time I painted such a big picture (the entire tetraptych measures 160 x 480 cm). I had made a series of sketches first, but then I decided, as usual, to rely mainly on improvisation and listening to the impulses and emotions that would appear. It turned out to be an image referring to both the complexity of relationships and experiences as well as to the Heraclitic pantha rei, which implies the necessity of undergoing constant changes. In these changes, hesitations, major or minor challenges, difficulties, surprises, imperfections of everyday life, the pulse of life and its unique beauty are hidden. We live and experience what life brings us, sometimes in delight, often falling into a routine, another time so close to despair or death. What's important? There are other people next to us. How close are we in fact? What can we do in time of pandemic? What does it mean an 'ordinary life' to you?

To były pierwsze tygodnie pandemii w Polsce.
