The idea of multi-layered observation is demonstrated in the photograph Inland Gaze with emphasis on the anthropomorphic view—the personification of morphology. In the original map, drawn spring-like signs call to mind a pair of eyes, gazing at the viewer from within the map. Its outlined route, which follows past paths that have turned into dust, is interpreted through an attempt to hold onto the "wings of history." The bottom spiral imprinted on the ground attests to the ecological violation that accelerates the processes of collapse caused by the sinkholes. As a marker of hope, an upper pupil opens near the shoreline. It is a computerized drawing of the DNA double helix which carries the genetic code necessary for the continued existence of mankind.

רעיון הצפייה הרב רובדית מומחש בצילום 'דיוקן המקום', בדגש על התפיסה האנתרופומורפית - האנשת המורפולוגיה. ברישום המפה המקורית, ציורי סימן הדומים למעיינות, נראים כשתי עיניים, עיניים הנִיבטות ומביטות מתוך המפה אל עבר הצופה בה. תוואי שרטוטי המפה המתחקה אחר שבילי עבר שהתפוגגו, מתפרש תוך כדי ניסיון לאחוז את "כנפי ההיסטוריה". הספירלה התחתונה המוטבעת אל הקרקע מעידה על ההפרה האקולוגית המזרזת את תהליכי הקריסה אותם מחוללים הבולענים. כסמן של תקווה נפתח אישון עליון בסמוך לקו המים. זהו התרשים הממוחשב של סליל ה-ד.נ.א, האוצר בתוכו את הקוד הגנטי הדרוש להמשכיות המין האנושי.
