Even though my work has mostly been in two-dimensional form of painting on canvas, the forms and movements created have always wanted to exist in a three-dimensional space. After experimenting with various materials, I needed something light to portray the weightlessness that the paintings have from the brush-strokes. I settled on a very dense type of styrofoam that I was able to shape easily while not being too heavy. Mostly using wood-carving power tools, the shapes are formed similarly to the process in which the paintings are formed.
