I have always enjoyed creating work from the human figure. It has been a challenge to incorporate the figure into my expressionistic paintings due to my application style. The confines of doing actual subject matter limits the freedom of painting expressively. This self-portrait was an attempt to bridge the two worlds together, maintaining my painterly style but still capturing my look.
