Miro is absolutely one of my favorite artists of all time and I wanted to try to make a wall hanging in his style. I’m getting more and more abstract in my artwork, and this is just one of many that I played around with. The challenge with this piece was the blue satin fabric that I used. It’s very hard to work with satin when you’re used to working with cotton and batiks. Anyway, I used lots of hand embroidery and scraps of fabrics to create something unusual, especially for me.
