I love this mandala design using my hand painted fabric as background for the wonderful batiks. Using metallic gold machine stitching enhances the shimmering effects of the batiks.
This is one of my favourites of all the Mandalas that I designed and sewed. Mostly because of the background fabric which I painted but also because of the wonderful batiks with gold printing. I then highlighted some of the painted elements with gold stitching and also outlined all the leaves with gold thread.
