As I have mentioned before, I really love working with batiks. They’re all so different and only available in a certain number of yards, usually 8-10 yards. Like my Indian sari which is 8 yards of silk that I wrap around me into a sari and do a Bollywood dance in. There were some unusual colors in these particular pieces, and they were small and not too easy to combine. I had several sketches of castles in the sky which I had drawn when I made 'Fire and Ice'. I felt there had to be lots of energy emanating from this fantasy image and so I chose the corals and the yellows to show that movement. A sweet castle with embroidered beads in the sky above.
