I went to a wonderful fabric store on a group outing, and found a beautiful animal themed cotton, very modern, very graphic. Even without knowing what I would do with such a print, I just knew that I had to have it. I came home and the new Quilting Arts magazine had arrived. There was the fabric featured, so I got inspired and started cutting up (ouch!) the fabric into several of the graphic images. Definitely a jungle of some sort, I thought. I ended up doing a large wall hanging called African Savanna. I only had scraps left but didn’t want to waste the wonderful graphics, so I designed Africa Two. All pieces are fused onto a soft brown cotton quilting fabric. There was a decorator fabric in my stash I thought would frame the images in a strong and very graphic way, so I made a wide border and loops to finish the art piece.
