Maine Seascapes are inspired by the ocean. Whether working in the studio or outdoors, all my Maine Seascapes stem from direct visual observation. These original paintings use traditional watercolors on cotton rag paper, as well as on wood, aluminum, and clay board. Watercolor grounds or other materials are sometimes used to create textural under paintings. Many of my watercolors are mounted and sealed with fixative and wax, allowing them to be framed without glass. Included in this collection are Cobra water-mixable oil seascapes on clay board, copper panels, and oil paper—these oils are particularly well-suited for outdoor painting during Maine winters.
