I am drawn to the combination of pink, orange, and red - colors often seen as unconventional, but whose interaction I find incredibly powerful. They “bite” each other just enough to generate palpable tension on the canvas without dissolving into harmony.

This painting is the result of an informal, intuitive and physical process. Starting with the mark-making it is a a cycle of layering, wiping, and reapplying until the surface holds a memory of every decision. You see sheer, soaked areas where the paint bled into the raw canvas alongside thick smears of pink and calligraphic lines.
