My monochrome "ROUGH" series focusses on the paint, its texture, the nuances of one color and bold brushwork.
I absolutely love working on this paintings currently, somehow it connects to a phase about 10 ago years where I worked a lot in black, grey and brown, only combined with white, and also with heavy textures. Back then I used ash or collage materials for the textures; but in the new series the texture comes solely from the paint itself.
