I remember very clearly how this small series came to life. It was autumn, and the colors outside began to shift, deeper, richer, the air smelled earthy and intense. Everything hinted that nature’s cycle was approaching its (temporary) end.

The green tones in these abstract paintings also became softer and darker. They wrap around you and evoke the feeling of curling up on the couch in the evening, with a cup of tea and a good book.

The shape of the motif in the first one reminded me of that mood, it has a kind of “nest-like” character. This larger square format was later joined by two smaller squares in a similar color palette.
