A collection of works investigating the visual language of Brutalism, the shapes and proportions are used while thinking about the architect's creative process. Having identified a group of reoccurring shapes, paintings are created comparing compositions to how a building might be "composed" to work with light and space. The tiles are all single, five letter words found in an architectural photography book by Martin Dust. My first solo show 'Essential Shapes of Brutalism' was held at Cupola Contemporary, Sheffield, in May 2022
