Artist’s oil painting rendition based off of a black and white portrait of a Modoc woman captured on film by Edward Curtis in the early 20th century through a JP Morgan commission, The North American Indian, comprised of 500 portraits. This portrait by 2Ka’ila brings to life the Curtis portrait through layering colors and skin tones of her Tribal ancestors.
