"I started doing art when I was a kid in the 80s back in North Carolina, painting country crafts and selling them to friends and family and at the local markets. Although I took some art classes when I was young, I am mostly self-taught. I have been living in Eugene for 20+ years and I’m proud to call it my home; it really has been a wonderful place to live and I’ve learned so much here. My petals have opened, my wings have emerged, and I love this town. I currently teach art to the neurodivergent community at Allies LLC, and am a caretaker.
"I have been very involved with the community throughout the years, by organizing the Great Whiteaker Clean Up and helping with the Whiteaker Block Party. I like to think my paintings and the space I create evoke a sense of joy and happiness. I use a lot of bright contrasting colors, and I like to use a lot of shapes and patterns in my work. The most common compliment I receive is that people enjoy my use of color!"
