Artist: Sierra Freeman
Sierra Freeman is a Navajo artist and violinist from Northern Arizona, now based in Oregon while pursuing her Masters in Music Performance at the University of Oregon. She has been beading since childhood, using beads and stones as a form of conversation and cultural connection.
Sierra’s work reflects Navajo creation stories and the sacred four directions: East (white, Blanca Peak), South (blue, Mount Taylor), West (yellow, San Francisco Peaks), and North (black, Hesperus Mountain). Beading allows her to share tradition through color and design, blending musical and cultural expression while building community through art.
