Artist: Shayleen Macy
Shayleen Macy (Wasco/Warm Springs) is a lifelong artist who specializes in traditional Native American arts of the Columbia River Plateau. Shayleen received her BFA in 2014 at the University of Oregon in printmaking and is currently a PhD student in linguistics at the University of Oregon studying the Kiksht and Ichishkiin languages, which are indigenous to the Columbia River regions of Oregon and Washington. Shayleen’s other areas of interest include tribal salmon fishing and processing. Her work focuses on cultural practice and community development.
