Co-founded in 1981 by Susan Sygall and Barbara Williams, MIUSA is a disability-led non-profit organization headquartered in Eugene, Oregon, advancing disability rights and leadership globally. MIUSA is known for its signature women’s leadership program, the International Women’s Institute on Leadership and Disability, which brings together women leaders with disabilities from Africa, Asia and the Pacific, Eastern Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean and the Middle East. For over four decades, MIUSA has developed an extensive network of over 2400 alumni from over 135 countries who are working for the rights of people with disabilities.
