Kendra Abeene is a 3rd generation Eugene artist who has been creating art since the day she could hold a crayon. While she has been self-taught and received formal training, including at Lane Community College, it’s only been in the last ten years that her work has started to meet her high expectations.

She attributes her recent happiness with her work to two things. First, she practices her weaknesses first. This currently includes doing plein air art studies around town to improve her landscapes. Second, she has found her voice, feeling that for much of her career she created what she thought people wanted, but has since moved on to paint social commentary on modern life and the inescapable participation one must do.
