Eric Braman (they/them) is a poet, playwright, storyteller and visual artist based in Springfield, Oregon. As a genderqueer artist with a deep connection to nature, much of their art explores themes of masculinity, Queer possibility, mental health and the intrinsic parallels of the human experience to the natural world.
Eric’s original collection of poetry, “Bury Me in Cherry Blossoms.” is scheduled for a Fall 2024 publication by Cirque Press. Other publications include High Shelf Press, Moon Tide Press, Qu Literary Magazine, The Coachella Review and more. They have performed on stages and their writing has been produced by theaters across the USA. In 2022 Eric was an Honorarium Recipient to produce their original autobiographical show “To You/To Myself” at the Oregon Fringe Festival and in 2019 they released “By Your Side,” a music and spoken word album in collaboration with Cullen Vance.
Eric is inspired by the ways autobiographical stories, both spoken and visual, inspire connections and empathy within those who listen and observe. Their creative process often involves collaboration, community and courageous vulnerability.
